What the Wind Carries

The thistles have finished flowering, but their work is not over. Their soft seeds gather beneath the plants and lift at the slightest movement of air, ready to travel beyond the place where they first grew.

Letting go can look like an ending, yet here it becomes a form of continuation. The plant cannot control where each seed will fall. It simply releases what it has formed and trusts the wind with the rest.

Perhaps some parts of life ask the same of us. We offer what we can, loosen our hold, and allow grace to carry it further than we could have planned.
