
Above a familiar road in Monasterevin, the night sky opens into green and purple. Stars remain visible through the colour. Below, the wall, trees and houses stand where they always have, beneath a sky that suddenly asks us to look again.
The Northern Lights look a little like fireworks. Perhaps we might call them God’s fireworks: a celebration we did not arrange, encountered above an ordinary street.
There are moments when wonder comes to meet us where we live. We step outside, look up, and discover that the familiar world still holds more than we have learned to expect.
