Where We Make Room

We often imagine that life belongs in carefully prepared places.

Yet these yellow flowers have rooted themselves between the slats of a garden bench, turning an ordinary seat into a place of nourishment.

Before long, a bee arrives. It asks no questions about whether the flowers belong there. It simply receives what has been offered.

Perhaps grace works in much the same way. It does not always wait for perfect conditions. It takes root in overlooked spaces, offers itself freely, and quietly sustains the life around it.

Sometimes the holiest places are the ones that made room without even realising it.
