Along the hedgerow, blackberries ripen at different speeds. Some have deepened into glossy black, some remain red, and others have already begun to wither. Growth, abundance and decay inhabit the same branches.

The hedgerow offers its harvest without arranging everything into perfection. Its leaves are spotted and weathered; its fruit comes ready in its own time. We are invited to receive what is ripe today and leave the rest to follow.

Paying attention teaches us that no season arrives all at once. Even as summer begins to withdraw, sweetness remains hidden among the leaves.
